| DESCRIPTION | Founded in 1980, the society serves as a forum for those who are interested in maps and cartographic history. It brings together a unique and diverse group of collectors, dealers, librarians and academics from over 30 countries. The society holds a minimum of four meetings each year. At least two meetings are held in the UK, one coinciding with an Annual Map Fair held in London in June. An International Symposium is held in a different country each year. There are opportunies to visit outstanding map collections worldwide. |
