DESCRIPTION Omniterrum and the American Globe Preservation Society have joined forces to offer a permanent location dedicated to the preservation of globes and related planetary from around the world spanning four centuries. The purpose of a globe museum is to: Showcase and preserve vintage and antique globes from around the world, including related documents and other artifacts; Utilize globes as scientific instruments and teaching tools; Inspire and educate both children and adults via lectures, games, and interactive displays to develop a greater interest in Geography and History. The museum features a vast variety of globes including terrestrial and celestial globes as well as lunar, Mars and other tellurian orbs. The collection includes models from the 18th century and as current as today. Hours: Thursday, Friday, Saturday 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM; Also by scheduled appointment.
