Subscribe Now and Get Free Access to OED
BCR is now offering subscriptions to OED Online, the new Web edition of the Oxford English Dictionary and ANB Online, the Web edition of the American National Biography. Subscribe now and get free access until July 1 when BCR's group subscription year begins. Libraries also may want to sign up for the free trial that runs through May 15.

To sign up, go to BCR's Web site (www.bcr.org), click on Reference Databases and then OUP or Oxford University Press and complete the online forms. Separate forms are available to sign up for the free trial and for subscriptions to OED Online and ANB Online.

Final pricing cannot be set until the total number of FTEs are aggregated for all orders. But in no case will the price rise above the ceiling price posted, and it could be reduced considerably. For libraries ordering through BCR, the ceiling price for the current year's subscription will not exceed $.24 per FTE plus an order service fee of $100 per library.

OCLC FirstSearch Price to Increase
The OCLC FirstSearch service per-search pricing will increase 7 percent beginning July 1. To make a purchase before the increase, libraries will need to get their orders into the BCR office no later than June 25. Pricing for OCLC member libraries will increase from $0.60 to $0.64 per search and from $0.70 to $0.75 for nonmember libraries. Libraries can obtain order forms from BCR's Web site (www.bcr.org). Go to the References Databases link. Then select OCLC from the menu and scroll down to Order Forms. Select OCLC FirstSearch Individual Institution Order Form and print a copy. Submit forms by fax to BCR at (303) 751-9787. Libraries also indicate their acceptance of OCLC's "FirstSearch Individual Institution License Agreement" when they complete their orders. The agreement is found on the same Web page as the order form. For questions or additional information, please contact Jim Hensinger (jhensing@bcr.org) or Karen Graham (kgraham@bcr.org). Periodicals Contents Index Database Access Ending
OCLC and Chadwyck-Healey have agreed to discontinue the full file and subset file versions of Periodicals Contents Index database as of July 1 on both the current and New OCLC FirstSearch services.

For questions or to subscribe to reference databases, CD-ROM and on the Web, contact BCR's Jim Hensinger (jhensinger@bcr.org) or Karen Graham kgraham@bcr.org.
