OCLC Providing ECO One-stop Shopping

OCLC's new Journal Licensing Program offers one-stop shopping for electronic subscriptions, access and archiving of titles available through the OCLC FirstSearch Electronic Collections Online service.

Now institutions can subscribe to the electronic version of journals available through Electronic Collections Online directly with BCR at the same time they open or renew their access accounts. BCR will quote pricing and provide license terms for electronic journals, process subscription orders and provide libraries with consolidated billing for subscriptions, access and archiving.

Electronic Collections Online allows libraries to search across hundreds of journals from many different publishers, using a single interface and access point. Titles are available in many different subject areas. More information, including a list of available journals is found at www.oclc.org/oclc/menu/eco.htm.

FirstSearch's PsycINFO Changes

The PsycINFO database, recently reloaded on the OCLC FirstSearch service, has changed its name to PsycINFO_1967. The most current part of the database is now known as PsycINFO_1984. The historical part of the database, covering journal articles back to 1887, is now known as PsycINFO_1887. The default or basic index has changed from subject to keyword.
